Adult In-hospital Volunteers

Who are Salina Regional's Adult In-hospital Volunteers?
Adult Volunteers are your neighbors and friends, some retired, some employed. What they have in common are caring attitudes and sincere commitments to help others in what may be an unfamiliar setting or a difficult time for them.

Adult Volunteers serve at Salina Regional at least twice monthly for half a day. Some serve weekly, and others serve even more frequently. Most volunteer assignments are mornings or afternoons Mondays through Fridays–although the gifts shop welcomes evening and weekend volunteers, also.

Our staff, patients, and visitors value volunteers. They identify volunteers by their jackets/vests/polos, name badges, and their friendly "Let me help you!" smiles. Over 75 Adult Volunteers assist with services in six areas (plus offices) at Salina Regional ... people like YOU who value contributing to the health of our community.

Why do people volunteer at Salina Regional? Here's a sampling:
  • My spouse was a patient at Salina Regional. Volunteering lets me return to others the good care he received.
  • I volunteer to help people, and it helps keep me mentally alert and physically active. I meet such interesting people and look forward to volunteering on Fridays!
  • I worked as a receptionist for many years. Now I use those skills greeting hospital visitors and helping them feel comfortable and cared for.
  • As a widow, volunteering helps bring a positive purpose to lonesome days that I did not have before I became part of our "hospital family". I receive more blessings than I could ever give.
