January 7 through March 10- FREE Tobacco Cessation Classes.

This program consists of 8 one hour group sessions designed to give you the tools and support to quit tobacco. Participants will receive information on strategies to quit and stay quit, how to cope with stress without using tobacco, and medications that might help with the quitting process. This is open to smokers as well as those who use smokeless tobacco.

Time: Tuesdays from noon-1pm

January 7- Diabetes Education, What Is Diabetes, Healthy Eating

This program is open to anyone including those newly diagnosed with diabetes, those who have had diabetes for a long time and anyone who simply just wants to learn more. The instructors are nurses and dieticians who are Certified Diabetes Educators, a pharmacist and physical therapist.

January 10 - Early Childhood Screening Clinic

Central Kansas Cooperative In Education holds their early childhood screening clinic today for children in Saline, Ottawa and Ellsworth Counties. They will screen children in areas of hearing, seeing, talking, thinking, moving and playing. Children from birth to five years of age and children from ages 3-5 are screened. January 14 & 15 – Normalizing Depression

Coping with depression or interacting with those struggling with depression can be overwhelming. Through a grant from the Salina Regional Health Center Foundation and in conjunction with the production of “Every Brilliant” Thing, Salina Community Threatre will offer workshops to help people learn new coping skills, as well as how to recognize depression. January 15-February 19- FREE Self- Management Education For Chronic Conditions

This workshop series consists of six group sessions designed to give you the tools and support to live better with a chronic condition. Participants will receive information on strategies needed to make good decisions about your health, managing your symptoms and communicating with family, friends and health professionals. This is open to any adult with a chronic illness (COPD, arthritis, depression, CHF) or a family member who provides support.

Time: Wednesdays from 9:30 am until noon

January 21 Through March 3- FREE Fall Prevention Strategies

This program consists of seven 90-minute workshops designed to help you build confidence and prevent falls. It is designed specifically for people ages 65 , who has had a fall in the past year or has a fear of calling. Must be living independently, and does not have dementia. This fun workshop is limited to 12 participants and fills up fast.

February 18- Diabetes Support Group

A free series of meetings for anyone affected by diabetes. The first 20 attendees will get a door prize, free samples of diabetes-friendly recipes will be available and prize drawings at each meeting. If you attend three or more meetings you will be entered for the grand prize giveaway on June 16. No registration is required.
