Bone Density Studies

Salina Regional Health Center offers Dexa Axial bone density studies.  Bone density studies assist in determining osteoporosis.  The study will indicate how hard or dense the bone is.  Patients assist us with their history by completing a questionnaire upon arrival.  We will need to acquire their current weight and height.  The patient will be required to lie on a table while the scanner arm moves above  them.  After the X-rays have been completed, the computer calculates the amount of calcium in the bones and determines the patient's risk of osteoporosis.
