(March 26, 2008) -- Jeanne Byquist, RD, LD of Salina, KS attended
the 2008
Avon
Foundation Breast Cancer Forum: Advancing Prevention and Access to
Treatment
as a representative of Tammy Walker Cancer Center at Salina Regional Health
Center. This year’s Forum took place on February 4-6 in
Houston,
TX
and focused on advancing prevention and access to treatment. Byquist was one
of more than 275 specialists in breast cancer care programs representing 12
major cancer centers, 80 public hospitals and 140 community-based
organizations, from all 50 states and
Washington,
D.C.

Avon Foundation awards
grant for breast cancer prevention to Tammy Walker Cancer Center
(January 30, 2008)-- The Avon Foundation Breast Care Fund has
awarded a $42,000 grant to the Tammy Walker Cancer Center at Salina Regional
Health Center to increase awareness of the lifesaving benefits of annual
screening and early detection for breast cancer. This marks the
seventh year in a row that the health center has received funding.

Early application
deadline February 1 for respiratory therapist training program at Salina Regional
(January 09, 2008) -- In order to assist recruiting efforts and
offer locals an opportunity to train for a rewarding career in health care,
Salina Regional Health Center launched an outreach education program in 2007
through Washburn University to train respiratory care therapists in
Salina.
