PERSONAL ITEMS

Salina Regional Health Center will supply you with sufficient bed clothing for your stay here.

You may find it more comfortable, however, to bring your own pajamas and a bathrobe.

You may also want to bring some personal items with you such as a toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbrush, slippers, small change for newspapers, shaving equipment, etc.

Any electrical items such as hair dryers or electric razors will have to be safety checked before being allowed in your room.

We urge you not to bring valuables with you to the hospital.

The Health Center cannot assume responsibility for large amounts of cash, expensive jewelry or other valuables kept in patient rooms.  Such items may be checked into safekeeping upon your admission if you wish.  On the day of your dismissal we encourage you to pick up your valuables before 4:30 p.m.

When not in use, fragile items such as dentures or eyeglasses should be kept in a protective container and labeled appropriately to prevent them from getting misplaced or broken.

SMOKING

Salina Regional Health Center is a non-smoking public facility, in accordance with state law.

Patients and visitors are asked not to smoke in the hospital.  Specially designated areas outside the hospital have been created for this purpose.  Ask a member of the hospital staff to direct you.

TELEVISION

All adult patient rooms, with the exception of those in the Behavioral Health Unit and the Rehabilitation Unit, are equipped with television sets which have remote control and pillow speakers.

All television sets are served by cable television.

Patient televisions are equipped with closed circuit education programming.  Program guides are available in patient rooms.

NUTRITION - Room Service
While you are a patient at Salina Regional Health Center, you will be provided with a full restaurant-style menu consisting of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, specialty entrees, traditional entrees, desserts and beverages.  Operators are standing by to take your order from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.  A traditional breakfast menu is still offered in the morning.

If a patient or family member has not called to place an order, food service personnel will either call the patient or go to the patient's room to visit with them.

The Health Center's dietitians work closely with your doctor in the areas of diet therapy and nutrition.

Should you have any questions about your diet, a dietitian will be glad to visit with you about any problems or modifications.

If your physician prescribes a special diet to be continued after your dismissal, instructions in meal preparations and management will be provided before you leave the hospital.

CAFETERIA

The cafeteria is open for visitors on the following weekdays at the following times.

Santa Fe Cafeteria

• Breakfast - 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
• Lunch - 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
• Dinner - 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Coffee, tea and snacks are available between meals in both cafeterias.  

TERRACE

The Terrace at the Santa Fe campus is open Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and is closed week-ends and holidays.  Hamburgers, French fries, sandwiches and a variety of other fast foods are available at the Terrace.

The Terrace can be reached by dialing 452-6606.

VENDING MACHINES

At the Penn Campus, vending machines are located in the cafeteria.

At the Santa Fe Campus, vending machines are located outside the cafeteria, the emergency department and by the 3 South elevators.
