Helping People Get Better Fast

New Options is an intensive behavioral health treatment program that really works. We help patients generate new options ... and new ways to live. We offer immediate access to a safe, structured environment for persons whose symptoms are impairing their ability to get the most out of life.

To provide the best care possible, we welcome involvement with others involved with the person such as a personal physician, minister, therapist, or concerned family members. We involve key people if needed so people can get better faster.

New Options gives new hope.

Why New Options?

What does our program do?

At New Options, we have the ability to look at the whole picture of a person's life, and develop a plan of care that will give them the tools they need to be healthy for the long term. The New Options Day Treatment program treats adults whose symptoms are too severe to be managed in outpatient therapy, yet do not require 24-hour supervised care.

Using intensive therapies, patients learn how to evaluate and prioritize life stressors and learn management techniques. Staff works with patients to recognize warning signs within their own bodies. The process includes education on how the brain functions and how they can manage their emotions to improve mood.

We also evaluate any medication needs a patient might have. New Options has strong nursing and physician support and we can find the right medication and patients get relief.

Patients are able to maintain their employment and remain involved with their community and family during their course of treatment.

The program is an intensive three day-a-week regiment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. However, each case is individual and length of stay and number of days of attendance can vary from patient to patient.

Treatment involves regular psychiatric consultation and both group and individual therapy.

Who can be helped by New Options?

The program is designed for people who are experiencing acute life stress, or have lost their ability to function in life, but do not require inpatient treatment. Any person suffering from persistent sadness, worry, or grief that has not responded to traditional treatment, or whose symptoms are impairing work or home can be helped. They just need to take the first step.

How can I get help?

Help in a private and safe environment is just a phone call away.

By calling (785) 452-6085, you will be put in contact with program staff that will set up an initial assessment for you.

At that time we can answer any questions you might have and explain how the treatment process works. If you and staff feel another form of treatment may work better, referrals will be made.

Most insurances pay for treatment and there is even an Aftercare group to support you as long as you need it.
