Service Auxiliary

Over the years, many of you have surely visited an auxiliary Rummage Sale for super bargains for your home and family, viewed what's new for fall at a Fashion Show, or had a great spaghetti dinner at Holly Days. Did you know that, while you were enjoying these Service Auxiliary events, you were also helping our health center provide valued services?

Dollars from these and other auxiliary projects support services of Salina Regional Health Center and Salina Regional Health Foundation in our regional community. In 2011, the auxiliary raised more than $97,000 to contribute to these and other programs:

  • The Rebecca A. Morrison House for families of patients
  • Scholarships for students in healthcare studies
  • Seasonal decor and guest services for visitors of all ages
  • The Community Health Investment Program (CHIP)
  • Completion of a $100,000 pledge to the Donna L. Vanier Children's Center

The auxiliary–with the help of the medical staff–also maintains the salt water aquarium, a lobby attraction for the past seventeen years.

Another auxiliary contribution is time. Hours given in 2011 to earn funds for hospital/foundation gifts were valued at an additional $100,260.

Auxiliary membership totals 300 men and women. Annual dues range from $10 for General Memberships to $25 or more for Contributing Memberships. For $250, you can add your name to the list of seventy-one Lifetime Members.

As a member, you receive news of Service Auxiliary activities and may participate in service or fund-raising projects ... or you may want to lend your financial support rather than your active support. Whichever role you choose, auxiliary membership unites you with a group of special, caring people who maintain a variety of valued comforts and services for our patients, their families and our community.
