September 16 -Heredity Cancer Syndrome

Wheatland ONS invites you to attend a presentation by Dr. Jennifer Klemp. The topics to be
discussed include: Identify the "red flags" for Heredity Cancer Syndrome testing, Discuss your role
in identifying at-risk patients for Hereditary Cancer Syndrome, Explain the medical managment
options for those who test for Hereditary Cancer Syndrome, Differences in lab quality and VUS

The 2014 Fall Auxiliary Fall Rummage Sale will be held Sept 20-Sept 23 at the 4H Building.

September 24- Brain Exercise Vs. Real Exercise

To keep your mind sharp, would you be better off playing Sudoku or working out at the gym? Just
how useful are activities like crossword puzzles for exercising your brain? In this program we will
compare the "brain benefits" of games with the cognitive effects of physical exercise. It will be
facilitated by Moira Mulhern, Ph.D., Co-founder and CEO, Turning Point: The Center For Hope and
Healing.

September 23 - Men's Cancer Networking Group Annual Picnic
(formerly Man To Man Prostate Cancer Support Group)

The group will meet for our ANNUAL PICNIC at the Lakewood Park Shelter on the south side of
Lakewood Park at 6:30 p.m. Family members are welcome. Bring a covered dish to share and table
service for you and your guests. Chicken and drinks provided. RSVP to Linda Hinnenkamp by
September 19. We are looking foward to seeing you. In case of bad weather the picnic will be at
Tammy Walker Cancer Center.

have had diabetes for a long time and anyone who simply wants to learn more. It is being
taught by nurses and dietitians who are certified Diabetes Education Educators, a pharmacist
and a physical therapist.

October 11 - Fe For A Cure 5K Run

Breast cancer affects us all. Even if you haven't faced the disease, chances are you know someone;
a loved one, friend or neighbor who has. Four community organizations along Santa Fe Avenue in
the heart of Salina; Salina Regional Health Center, Salina Downtown, Inc., Kansas Wesleyan
University and St. John's Military School have joined forces to recognize national Breast Cancer
Awareness Month in October in order to support area breast cancer patients and their families
at the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.

October 18- Strike Against Cancer At All Star Lanes

Get your team together and sign up (six people per lane). The cost is $10 for two hours of bowling
(includes shoe rental). Pizza Hut will have food you can purchase. There will be a great silent
auction and a 50/50 drawing. Bowl from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. or 7:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. Come out
and have a great time while supporting the patients of Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
All proceeds from this event will benefit Tammy Walker Cancer Center. Call Mark at All Star Lanes

A wonderful group of men and some of their spouses meet once a month to hear a talk pertaining
to men's cancers and have a chance to network with each other about issues they are dealing
with or have questions answered. Everyone is welcome. This is the last meeting of the year. Snack
will be provided.

will be led by Dr. Susan Krigel (via ITV) at Tammy Walker Cancer Center from noon to 1:00 p.m. in
the second floor library room. The first two sessions will be getting ready and the third session will
be the quitting day. You will get counseling and help from Dr. Krigel as well as information and
materials to help you quit and keep you on track. If you ever thought you need to quit smoking,
sign up for this special class.

November 7- Oncology Symposium

The Tammy Walker Cancer Center in joint partnership with the University of Kansas Medical
Center Area Health Education Center-West present the 2014 Oncology Symposium. There are
five speakers scheduled to speak on a variety of cancer topics. Registration fee includes
continental breakfast, lunch and electronic handouts. Make checks payable to Salina Regional Health
