August 20 - T'ai Chi: Gentle Yet Powerful Stress Management

T'ai Chi is a low impact exercise yet provides cardio benefits, burns calories and improves balance
and relaxation. The class will include a short breathing exercise, warm ups (loosening, breathing and
balance techniques) and standing/sitting Tai Chi techniques. This body movement class, adaptable
for both sitting and standing movements, is designed for meditation and stress release. Practicing
T'ai Chi can help you become more calm and centered. It is facilitated by Bill Douglas, author of
The Complete Idiot's Guide To T'ai Chi & Qigong

August 22 -A Toast For Lymphoma Awareness

Come enjoy an evening of music and other activities to raise Lymphoma Awareness. Admission is by
donation. There will be a silent auction, raffle, food, casino games and much more. All proceeds will

August 23-Charity No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament

All proceeds from this charity poker tournament will benefit Tammy Walker Center. There
will be pop and water provided to players and prizes will be awarded. The tournament room is
air-conditioned and has two large high-definition flat screen televisions. Click here for tournament

A wonderful group of men and some of their spouses meet once a month to hear a talk pertaining
to men's cancers and have a chance to network with each other about issues they are dealing
with or have questions answered. Everyone is welcome.

The group will meet for our ANNUAL PICNIC at the Lakewood Park Shelter on the south side of
Lakewood Park at 6:30 p.m. Family members are welcome. Bring a covered dish to share and table
service for you and your guests. Chicken and drinks provided. RSVP to Linda Hinnenkamp by
September 19. We are looking foward to seeing you. In case of bad weather the picnic will be at
Tammy Walker Cancer Center.

Diabetes Education Classes

This program is open to anyone including those newly diagnosed with diabetes, those who
have had diabetes for a long time and anyone who simply wants to learn more. It is being
taught by nurses and dietitians who are certified Diabetes Education Educators, a pharmacist
and a physical therapist. There are no classes in September. Next classes are scheduled for
Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 23.

October 11 - Fe For A Cure 5K Run

Breast cancer affects us all. Even if you haven't faced the disease, chances are you know someone;
a loved one, friend or neighbor who has. Four community organizations along Santa Fe Avenue in
the heart of Salina; Salina Regional Health Center, Salina Downtown, Inc., Kansas Wesleyan
University and St. John's Military School have joined forces to recognize national Breast Cancer
Awareness Month in October in order to support area breast cancer patients and their families
at the Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
Time: 7:15 a.m. (Shuttle service begins)
