March 1- March 30 - Free Colorectal Screening Kits

FREE colorectal cancer screening kits will be available at all Salina and Lindsborg pharmacies (as well as employee pharmacies), Tammy Walker Cancer Center and Salina Family Healthcare beginning
March 1. They will be available through the month of March as long as supplies last. These kits are
new and improved (much easier than the kits used before last year). They are more sensitive, only
one sample is required and there are no food or medication restrictions. This test is intended for use every year between colonoscopies for anyone aged 50-75. Those at higher risk (family history of colorectal cancer or African Americans) may want to begin this at age 45.

Locations: Pick up kits at Salina and Lindsborg pharmacies, Tammy Walker Cancer Center and Salina Family Healthcare through the month of March (while supplies last).

March 7 - 1st Annual Hospice Of Salina Spring Craft Fair

Hospice of Salina is holding its first annual Spring Craft Fair on Saturday, March 7 from 8am-4pm at
Kenwood Hall in Salina. They are looking for vendors that would like to feature their products. Space
size is 10x10 and tables are included. Vendor fee is $25 and a donated item/items valued at a
minimum of $20 for a Silent Auction. Proceeds from the event will go to the Hospice of Salina
"Live Life" fund.

March 11 - The Coin's Other Side, Building Active Living

The public is invited to a special event for professional caregivers of people who have dementia.  The program is not about science, the brain or research.  It’s about doing simple things to reduce stress.  The two presenters will provide a large handout with many articles on dementia.  You will learn how to create moments of relaxation and joy for those with dementia as well as those who love and care for them.  Click here for flyer with more information.

Looking for restful sleep? This session helps you understand how lack of sleep affects your health.
We discuss sleep disorders, explain why sleep hygiene is important and review how much sleep
is needed to improve health. We also discuss sleep diaries and persistent sleep problems that should
be evaluated by your physician or sleep specialist.
