January 8- FREE Tobacco Cessation classes

This program provided by Susan Krigel, PhD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, consists of 8 to 9 one hour group sessions designed to give you the tools and support to quit tobacco. FIVE people quit smoking and TWO set quit dates during the last class. This is open to smokers as well as those who use smokeless tobacco.

This program is open to anyone including those newly diagnosed with diabetes, those who have had diabetes for a long time and anyone who simply just wants to learn more. The instructors are nurses and dieticians who are Certified Diabetes Educators, a pharmacist and physical therapist.

January 11 - Early Childhood Screening Clinic

Central Kansas Cooperative In Education holds their early childhood screening clinic today for children in Saline, Ottawa and Ellsworth Counties. They will screen children in areas of hearing, seeing, talking, thinking, moving and playing. Children from birth to five years of age and children from ages 3-5 are screened. The 2019 Cardiovascular Symposium is targeted to the primary provider and nursing staff both inpatient and primary care. Inviting all cancer survivors, their partners and those helping in the fight to join us at this support group. This group provides educational talks, helps with coping and provides a safe place to share and ask questions and learn from others who have faced similar situations. Drinks and snacks are provided. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except November & December).

Look Good, Feel Better

For those dealing with effects of cancer treatment who would like to learn techniques for skin and nail care, make-up application, and ways to increase self-esteem.
Location: 511 S. Santa Fe, Tammy Walker Cancer Center, First Floor Conference Room

Diabetes Support Group

These meetings feature interesting and informative speakers and discussion led by pharmacists from Salina Regional Health Center. Each evening will highlight a different diabetes-related topic designed to provide support for diabetics and their families. Door prizes will be awarded to the first 30 attendees! There will also be a prize drawing at each meeting and a grand prize drawing in June. Valet parking will be available at the hospital entrance. Click here for flyer with more information.
