Histology Technician
Under the direction and supervision of the laboratory, the histology technician is responsible for processing of specimens in the histology/pathology section of the laboratory. The technician demonstrates knowledge of equipment operation such as the tissue processor, paraffin station, microtome and slide stainer. The technician is able to perform daily maintenance, and troubleshooting. The technician works closely with the surgery department, pathologists, and transcribers. The technician is able to assist with special procedures involving the pathologists and the nursing units. Prefers HT (ASCP) experience.

Specialty Tech.
Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse in charge of the department, the specialty technician assists the nurses in providing quality patient care and informs the nurse about any significant changes. This includes taking vital signs, transporting patients, and helping the professional nurse with interventions. The specialty technician also interacts with other departments, performs cleaning, and restocks supplies, all under the direction of the professional nurse.
